The Last Story Release Date Is August 14, 2012. Pre-Order For Collector's Edition With Art Book and Soundtrack CD. Japanese RPG Developed By Hironobu Sakaguchi (Creator of Final Fantasy) And His Mistwalker Studio And FF Composer Nobuo Uematsu

The Last Story will be released exclusively for Wii on August 14th, 2012. It is a Japanese RPG developed by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and longtime FF composer Nobuo Uematsu.

This game is the long-awaited second most requested title by a group of RPG Wii fans callling themselves "Operation Rainfall". They petitioned heavily to get The Last Story released in America, alongside Xenoblade Chronicles (released lat April) and Pandora's Tower (yet to be picked up for American release).

Those who pre-order The Last Story via retailers like GameStop, EB Games Canada and Amazon will get a special Collector's Edition version that includes a 44-page softcover Art Book, a 7-track The Last Story Soundtrack CD and a special edition box. Not too shabby. :)

If you have any interest at all in great, AAA Wii games or Japanese RPGs, you owe it to yourself to buy this game to not only support it, but persuade Nintendo or another publisher to bring Pandora's Tower to America, the third and final Japanese RPG that gamers everywhere are clamoring for to complete the "Operation Rainfall" trilogy.

I should mention that Operation Rainfall was so successful that they went on to create a website and have essentially become an organization to popularize little-known gems that they will push to get released in the United States.
